About the home
Built in 1896 and set above the street in the way only New Orleans homes are, this Chestnut Street Victorian sits on one of the Golden Rectangle's quieter, tree-canopied blocks. The main level opens wide — twelve-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, and oversized windows with plantation shutters that frame the treetops rather than the street. Magazine Street is just around the corner, and Audubon Park is a few blocks' walk in the other direction.
The lower level has its own rhythm: two bedrooms with walk-in closets, a den with French doors that open to a courtyard-style backyard, and a large laundry room that doubles as flex space. Off-street parking rounds out a house that asks you to slow down and settle in.
